IPOH FOODS PARADISE

So what next for the best places ?TaDaaaa that is
Big Tree Foot -Plateful of deliciously succulent and bouncy deep fried fish paste stuffed in various manners.

The Famous BIG TREE FOOT …. years of cultivation led to a most fruitful shade?
A popular spot for quick, cheap and satisfying lunch among the locals, tourists and even the blue collars, this stall coined as “Dai Shu Geok” literally translated as Big Tree Foot, is located behind Tuck Kee Restaurant in Pasir Pinji of Ipoh.
Not to be confused with THE other stall (now a shop) on Jalan Prince , this stall has a great following of its own, normally crowded during lunch hour, although the hygiene factor of dining under this shack is slightly compromised. But for a taste of good food, you can throw caution to the wind for once ….
That my friend wai hao craving for it yong tao fu

hey,yi shuang look at the camera =)
Recently, a coffee shop has opened next to this shack, with a stall selling the same stuff. Actually, they’re one of the same outlet. So feel free to eat at the original shack under the shady trees, or choose to feast in comfort over at the new ‘extension‘ next door.

The Ipoh famous Sar Kok Liew, or deep-fried stuffed
The ‘Chap Guo Ping‘ (Mixed Fruit Ice) came in a HUGE jug, enough for sharing. With lots of fruit bits added, and lychee syrup poured liberately over the shaved ice, this is heaven-sent on a hot, sunny day. The other options include blended mix fruit (as below ) and even red dragonfruit !!!

cap gou peng drink =)
You can order laksa, or other types of noodles to go with their stuffed fish paste (yong tau foo, or yong liew), OR you can just pick your pieces and eat them fresh on the spot, jumping the queue. But of course, PAY FIRST before being seated at any of the tables laid around the place.
All the thing here are delicious indeed .But really, go for anything … they’re all good. This is really a nice places to be when u are in ipoh .
Watch out for the lunch crowd, as you may have to queue up and brace the wait. Parking may be a hindrance, as the allocated parking spots are rather limited, forcing most to double park by the roadside. Me ,yi shuang and wai hao did enjoy eating the Ipoh wonder that cant be find in kl .OPPssss!Okay what next let head on it desert time =)

A most saliva-inducing, gastronomic trail awaits you …. DON’T say I did not warn you …….
Tau Fu Fa=)
So whatelse is better to have a nice smooth Tau Fu Fah after an oily meal.So me joana and my sis decided to go for some Tau Fu Fah which is the most famous in Ipoh .Tau Fu Fah, also known as Soybean Curd, or Soy Custard, and almost instantaneously the image of white-as-snow, silky smooth curds made from soybean emerge in one’s mind. And if you’re wondering where to get the BEST Tau Fu Fah in Ipoh, Funny Mountain‘s the place to go, hands down.
joana lee which enjoying her TOU FU FA

WHAT Mountain you ask?! FUNNY Mountain. That famous soybean stall, almost renowned throughout the land of Malaysia, which may be the first Tau Fu Fah and Soybean stall that provides excellent Drive-Thru service. Yeah, you can literally enjoy your bowl of Tau Fu Fah in the comfort of your roaring engine, and risk perforating that ozone layer with another hole or two.

cik ciak ...joana wif my sis
All in the name of wacky, good fun. Nah …. but really, the thought of slurping (yes, no chewing required!) on those smooth, almost melt-in-mouth Tau Fu Fah, served commonly with a drizzle of sugar syrup with a faint hint of ginger, all the while in the comfort of your air-conditioned vehicle – Priceless. Plus, you do not have to search for an empty parking lot in the rather congested area, or risk getting a ticket for parking haphazardly or for not scratching a parking coupon.
it always crouded wif ppl =$
The stall opens daily from 10.30am onwards, until whatever supplies they have on that day is finished. Yes, it’s a rather arbitrary signage on the wall, but truth be told, it holds true on most occasions.
me and my sis
On peak periods, such as weekends and public holidays, you can expect to be sorely disappointed if you arrive after 2-3pm, for the Tau Fu Fah may probably be finished by then. So it’s best to come as early as possible, and relish in a bowl or two of the Tau Fu Fah (you can have them as it is, or with soybean milk, or even with cincau/grass jelly). And if you feel like it, help yourself to the take-away  containers of those sweet, slithering down one’s throat wonder. Or a bottle or two of their equally satisfying soybean drink, which is creamy, milky and wholesome in itself.Ipoh is fully of many delicious food .

There are many more food yet to be discover ,this is the few i would introduce u to go .Bcoz ipoh is just simply a food paradise =)

The Best Places To Be

Hello and ‘lei hou’, that’s ‘how are you’ in Cantonese, the most
widely spoken dialect in Ipoh. The majority of the people in Ipoh are of Cantonese Chinese descent.I am the kampung boy  that come from "IPOH" also ,this is the best places to be which is my hometown ,wonderful places .
So my first place to be is Ipoh Railway station nice .Let me show you the Ipoh Railway Station. Here’s how it looks like from the front.
The landscaped garden in front of the Railway Station accentuates its sense of grandeur.
Nicknamed the Taj Mahal of Ipoh, the railway station was designed by A.B Hubback, one of the most prominent architects during the British colonial rule. It opened in 1935, making it the second concrete station to be constructed in town.
If you have seen the old railway station in Kuala Lumpur, they resemble each other in architecture since they were designed by the same architect. Cool right ?

That me XP

This building is about 90 years old(WOW)!. It has three platforms, commodious offices, a hotel and a restaurant.
The design is classical architecture, harnessed to the British "Raj" style, surmounted by "Moorish" domes and turrets.
90 years old building will it fall ???

The railway station has just undergone an expansion and renovation, getting ready for the Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur commuter service. Thus, it is presenting a combination of modern and historical design now, which is marvelous!
It's really a good spot for photo taking.=)
u can see how hardworking is my  friend taking the photo =)

PLZ note there a guys taking photograph on the picture =)that my friend CKC

MEN IN BLACK GANG

ME AND BEST FRIEND KENNERTZ .(handsome guy )Girl plz dont stare too long with his eyes ...Oppps

As always my style ,it dinner time so i drive to pavillion with my friend to find some nice deserts as always .I found a shop call MOF
Ladies & gentlemen, the MINISTRY OF FOOD !!!

If you’re bogged down by the promises made by the (in)competent ministries in our country, promising the heavens but instead delivering lowly dirts, then you’re probably not alone.
But seek solace in the Ministry of Food, a refreshing paradigm shift, a light at the end of the tunnel, a requiem for the masses. OK, for the sweet-toothed ones, at the very least. ;)I am a sweet tooth fairy ,i admit i like desert than anyone else in my family ,sorry sis XP

Of course I can’t deny the appeal of some, the new Mr Baoz from Taiwan is interesting, but mixed reviews had me doubting. And when one’s craving for some snacks/desserts, it’s either JCo’s donuts (there’s a limit to the fresh appeal of the doughnut craze, and I’ve reached that long time ago), The Loaf’s pastries and still-delectable Uh-Hu-Hu Cheesecakes, and John King’s egg tarts.
MOF (Ministry of Food) hailed from Singapore, and practising a rather interesting concept, serving Japanese styled desserts

The shop’s located next to Pastamania on Level 1, which in fact is the lower ground floor where Food Republic’s at. MOF faces Mercato Supermarket, so if you’re at Carl’s JR’s side, then you’re at the opposite end. The selection of desserts are mind-boggling, easily appeasing any dessert-lovers, and may convert a doubter into one.
Pick your spot, listen to ‘cheerful‘ (yet half-hearted) attempts of Irrashaimase (Welcome, in Japanese) and browse the menu conveniently placed under the table. The order tabs and a pencil are on the table itself, hence jot down your preference(s) and pay at the counter. They DO NOT charge Service Charge, so don’t grumble. =P
A top selection at MOF, and highly recommended by floggers alike, the Matcha Mixed Imo was served in a boat-like serving bowl, aesthetically-pleasing and leaving a lasting impression on the senses. The smooth and almost liquid-like texture of the soft serve (the soft ice cream made from Hokkaido milk, akin to McD’s soft vanilla ice-cream, but a bit smoother and none of the overpowering vanilla flavour) glided down the throat effortlessly, and the melting green tea sauce and sweet red bean paste intensified the flavours and complemented each other so well. How i know all this stuff.because it simply ,i ask the boss .muahahax
After my delicious desert ,okay stop about the food grandmother story .STOP IT!!!

College Life with me =)

Oh my god. I have been away for so long. Don’t know why lately have been so lazy on the blogging job. Always slacking in my comfy hostel room or just hang out around the university. Life here is kinda fun, but I do miss home occasionally.
I haven’t been online like I do so consistence at home last time because Internet at my hostel is still not ready yet, I am on the DiGi 3G Broadband and it always DC and another thing is I can’t online because of the capped and saving electricity bill. Somemore, I have homework and assignment already, don’t have many time to spend in front of the computer like before during the holidays. >.< Now I know why my friend seldom online when they went to college. Haha

Taylor’s University College had an orientation for March intake students 2 weeks ago. It’s for everyone that’s studying in Lakeside Campus and basically there’s many courses available at the Lakeside Campus except Pre-U studies. The reason I pick this university is because it’s new and beautiful. =D I like studying in a place that look like a school than an office building.here some photo i would like to share with all ,since i living in a hostel .I taken some photo using my DSLR:).as i call it look beautiful at night =)

the concert hall at night which no one will go during the day

this is the photo that i like the most =)

starbuck without anybody .

Here my campus nice right ?

During the day this plant look normal but at night it look awesome
Let talk about the orentation day .I taken some photo i would like to share with u guys .
It’s not really start of school yet but it’s an orientation to let you know what’s around the school and I was pretty excited for it because get to meet new people and back to school after the long 3 months holiday of mine. A little bit nervous also, because I knew no one at there. I have no friend of my age from Ipoh with me at there. Though I did meet people afterall.

There’s like thousands of student. Mass communication have the longest queue which I think they have many students as for me in mass communication, there’s not super many but at least there still around 66 students in my course. At least it’s not less than 10. Haha.
t’s the boring talk about what the school have, what are the dos and don’ts, welcoming speech and blablabla. Didn’t really enjoy it as I was like keeping my hands busy on the phone. One thing, the hall was so damn cold and we spent like 3 hours in the hall. Hungry in the morning!
campus tour

this is the places where i waited for my orentation t-shirt for one hours.

Phototaking section
After all the talk have done, it’s the admin work already. I have to go to collect stuff like t-shirt and take photos for student ID. The queue for this stuff was like so long and we have to wait for like an hour to get me in front of the line.

hope i look handsome in this phototaking =)
After a long whole day orentation i return to my hostel for some sweet dream .During the night i go to SS15 ,which is the nearest to explore what other college like Inti , Sunway student call it as a "TT(TEH TARIK)
places for us to hang along and chit-chat .There was a lot of thing and food to eat there. There was a shop name snow flake which is essentially, for premium shaved ice with grass jelly (cincau), a little syrup, some chewy beads of taroballs and an optional cup of creamer for good measure. Simple, faultless combination that cost double of your usual bowl of cincau from hawker stalls. But look at how Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert Secrets

Kindly allow me to shut that motormouth for a day and start the week on a breezy note. Thursday practically flew by, and to no surprise, the caffeine addiction kicked in more often than not. No thanks to that instant coffee machine in the pantry. I’m poisoned. Is there even a Caffeine Addicts Anonymous group?

The crowd were all barely of puberty age yet. Okay … maybe slightly exaggerated.
And thus, here’s a short one on possibly the next up and coming desserts chain that will take off; much like how KTZ created such a buzz back then.
Then there were the Honeymoon lah …. Lucky lah …. Hong Kong lah …. Tim Pun Gor Gor (don’t ask) lah …. and whatever gimmicks they can come up with.
Sadly, no designated kiosk/cafe for authentic Malaysian desserts huh? Like pengat pisang, nyonya kuih, red bean soup, Indian sweetmeats, etc. But for now, let’s look at how Snowflake has changed the palate of the younger generations like me .Nice Jobs!!THUMB UP...

A novel ordering system; first time seeing something similar to this. I am from kampung, okay?! So you just walk over to the counter, pay up and take one of this funky apparatus back to your table. When it lights up and erm, vibrate (don’t go there. ..), you collect your desserts.

Credits to be given where they’re due, the bowls of desserts at Snowflake do come in larger portion; and substantial enough to be shared if you’re not one who’s born with a sweet tooth.I can’t vouch for the authenticity of their supposedly Taiwanese desserts, since I have never been to Taiwan myself. (Pathetic right?) But if you long for something different from the generic Mango Lolo, or Tau Fu Fah, then maybe Snowflake’s the place for you. Just don’t expect peace and serenity ……Remember to call me along if u guys going to have a bite in the shop i willing to go again in the future =)
